What happened to the Olinda course?

The long drought took its toll on the course which has been progressively deteriorating over the last 10 years.

In January 2009, The Victorian Golf League declared the course "unplayable for golf competitions" thus forcing the club to go elsewhere for its matches.  Had the club continued to play the Olinda course, all members' handicaps would have become invalid.

Maintenance of the course continues to be below an acceptable standard and represents an abject failure by Parks Victoria to honour its charter.  The course is on Crown Land.
