What happened to the Olinda course?
- The long drought took its toll on the course which has been
progressively deteriorating over the last 10 years.
In January 2009, The Victorian Golf League declared the course
"unplayable for golf competitions" thus forcing the club to go elsewhere for its matches.
Had the club continued to play the Olinda course, all members'
handicaps would have become invalid.
Maintenance of the course seems to be non-existent due to a complete lack of involvement by Parks
Victoria who are responsible for the course which is on Crown Land.
